I find it quite interesting because this method is participatory, it is very clear, even for a beginner. And these applications are easy and various.
For me, I use it when I work on the professional project of ones of the employees of the town hall, when substantive work is needed.
I invite you to visit: http://www.herrmann-europe.com/uk/
For information, I am in double right brain dominance. If we talk about color, I am much yellow and red. Then green, and blue district that I do not - obviously too-too frequent.
During my studies in History, at la Sorbonne, I worked as a supervisor in a Lycée and as a scout leader for the whole Val d’oise. I specialised in : training, recruitment, etc . ... This was more interesting to me than being a college teacher. My school IGS Paris, specialised in HR, this is confirmed my professional project.
Internationnal
Despite the fact I’m still not working in an internationnal context, I’m a Dutch, living in France. I went to the Lycée International in Saint Germain en Laye (78). My father was born in Spain, my aunt in Bornéo. My sister in law is half German and half Hungarian. I can say that a melting pot is a part of who I am. During a six month period at “Stream”, I was in charge of the HR qualification for a British quality norm, for call centers. Everything had to be writen and exposed in English to the Welsh auditor.
My goal is to work as a HR generalist, in a international company.
So I have to be aware of what a big company is. The environment : financial skills, law, marketing... And of course, languages are one of the (pré requisites). That’s why I’m seeking a position generalists studies, teaching in English.
My capacities
Adaptability.
At work, I have to deal with 280 differents jobs styles and approximately 80 nationalities and employees with very different skills.
We have 44 projects in the city for a direct investment of and an investment of our partners, of those are figures for more than 120 000 inhabitants’ towns. Garges-lès-Gonesse is one of the poorest cities in France, so I have to be reactive, imaginative and adaptable to the departments.
Leadership.
I was (captain) when I practice water polo, scouts leader for the Val d’oise, the leader of a music band. I (animate) some training too. I think my leadership is based upon respect, listening, sharing my knowledge and experiences, try to find the right person for the right place as we say. I don’t think puting stress on someone’s shoulders is a good way to get the best from them, but I’m sure that to encourage a good climate, encouragement is right path to take.
A challenge.
I like challenging myself. So the question is can I afford this kind of challenge?
I do not work in a worldwide company so I haven’t experimented in lots of domains linked to management in an internationnal area. The huge work I’ll have to provide to suceed our goal is thus one of the points of intention.
First of all, I really love, as I said, challenges. This is something I have proven gets the most out of my abilities. I organized a scouts’ camp, with more than a hundred adolescents, for groups some having a whole range of difficulties. After three years at La Sorbonne, I passed the IGS tests. I worked hard and became one of the best in my promotion. When I came to the City Hall in which I’m working right now, I had to build a real training department and a team. That without the support of colleagues, because there was no HR team for a whole year. Now, I manage a budget of 500 000 Euros. I have three colleagues under my responsability plus all the apprentices (twelve persons) and also all the trainees we accept.
Your MBA will give value to my profile and help me in building my career. I will discover new skills, intercultural diversity, enforce my leadership, my stratégic thinking and also business processes. Your MBA is really a relevant point with long term opportunities.
I think my profile, my practice skill will beneficts to your programme.
During my work placement at Stream SA, I was recruited to assist the training manager. During this 6 months period, Steam SA dubble sized . That’s why recruitment became the principal preoccupation of the board. They entrust a part of the recruitment to me. At the same time, the US headquarters decided to let qualified all the sites. The french steering comitee took the initiative to be the first technical hotline to be certified in France. So I help first the training manager to challenge this goal, then the recuitment. Thus I had missions various and with a lot of autonomy.
